“I bought an Island Packet 380 three years ago and commissioned Schneider Yacht Experts with a purchase appraisal.
Last year, following electrolysis damage caused by faulty marina installations, I also had the completely renewed electrical system checked.
I can only recommend Mr. Schneider unreservedly as an accurate specialist and expert!

Purchase appraisal of a Beneteau Oceanis 42 CC in less than Mediterranean weather. It’s always a bit of a challenge to coordinate the schedule to ensure ideal tidal conditions for the sea trials in the lagoon. Here: Marina Capo Nord, Italy
November Blues today during the inspection of an Azimut 36 Fly in Aprilia Marittima. But despite the fog, the sea trials were successfully completed and the new owner was able to celebrate a successful conclusion. Here: Marina Capo Nord, Aprillia Marittima, Italy
Wet and cold start today at the purchase appraisal for an Island Packet 38 in Lignano. In addition, there was a water ingress via the cockpit drainage during the sea trial. But better during the appraisal than later with the customer 😉 Here: Marina Capo Nord (Italy)
TOP USED certificate for a Formosa 51. Sold within only 2 weeks! Here: Ravenna (Italy) More about this…
Last job before the Christmas break: Purchase appraisal for a Bavaria 47. We wish you happy holidays! Here: Marina Punta Faro (Italy) To the report excerpt…
Purchase appraisal for an Elan 42 at a still cozy 13 degrees and a slightly foggy lagoon. Here: Marina Capo Nord (Italy) To the report excerpt…

As our representative office is only one hour away from Trieste, we can usually organize viewings on the upper Adriatic within a few working days.
In individual cases, however, it may take longer, as we are also dependent on the availability of crane appointments for the inspection of the underwater hull.
Most Italian marinas and shipyards have excellent lifting facilities and sufficient capacity for rapid scheduling.
In order to avoid delays, however, it should be ensured that the boat or yacht is planned in advance and that cleaning of the UW vessel is also booked when the crane is reserved.
But don’t worry! Together with our offer you will receive a comprehensive checklist for your optimal preparation.
As standard, our expert reports are prepared in German or English.
However, we are also happy to provide an Italian translation for a small flat-rate fee.
No, not necessarily. Many large marinas in northern Italy (such as those in the Aprilia Marittima complex or in Monfalcone) have lifting facilities or travel lifts. It depends on the size of the yacht. For vessels over 20 meters, however, the infrastructure of a Cantiere Navale or a specialized shipyard is often necessary. We coordinate the best logistical and cost-effective option for inspecting the underwater hull with the seller or broker.
The Registro Italiano Navale (RINA) is Italy’s most important classification society. Many yachts carry a voluntary RINA certificate.
However, our purchase reports are not to be understood as a declaration of conformity, but generally follow international standards (e.g. the Code of Practice of the International Institute of Marine Surveying).
A current RINA certificate is an advantage, but does not replace an independent pre-purchase survey, as we also detect defects that may not be covered by RINA inspections (such as osmosis, engine oil analysis or non-structural damage).
There is an important innovation in this regard: The formal processing of the deletion and transfer of ownership of a yacht registered in Italy (de-registration) no longer necessarily takes place via a notary, but can be processed via so-called Sportello Telematico del Diportista (STED) agencies.
The STED procedure serves to simplify and digitize nautical administrative acts and is also significantly more cost-efficient than the previous processing via notary’s offices.
